(Providence, RI) -- Hundreds rallied outside Rhode Island Hospital on Monday for the first day of a unionized nurses' strike. Last-second negotiations between representatives of the United Nurses and Allied Professionals and Lifespan broke down on Monday. No incidents were reported on the picket line. The strike is expected to last the rest of the work week.
