(Providence, RI) -- A former Providence City Councilman is heading to prison. Kevin Jackson was sentenced yesterday to more than a year behind bars. Prosecutors say he embezzled money from the Providence Cobras track club to buy things like clothes and cigars. He also pleaded no contest to misusing campaign donations. In addition to his prison sentence, Jackson also has to pay restitution.
