First Girls In Boy Scouts In Rhode Island

(Providence, RI)--Rhode Island has its first girl troops in the Boy Scouts.The Providence Journal reports the troops from North Smithfield and Warwick were celebrated at a party held by the Narragansett Council of the Boy Scouts of America on Friday, the first day girls could join the organization.A total of six girls' troops are being formed, with nine more, according to scout officials.
