(Providence, RI) -- Providence shoppers are being encouraged to use reusable bags. City council approved an ordinance last night that requires shoppers to pay a fee for reusable plastic bags available at stores. It's estimated that the city will save about one-million dollars annually while it removes 95-million single use plastic bags from the landfill.
