(Providence, RI) -- A new state senator is set to be sworn in on Thursday. Senator-elect Sandra Cano, representing District 8 in Pawtucket, will be sworn in at 2 p.m. in the Senate Lounge of the State House. Cano, a Democrat, recently won a special election to fill the vacant Senate seat.
