(Providence, RI) -- A state House bill affecting animals used for research in Rhode Island is moving on to the Senate. Deputy Speaker Charlene Lima's legislation, the Research Animal Retirement Act, passed through the House last week. Lima says the bill will give Rhode Island guidelines for the adoption of dogs and cats used for research, rather than simply euthanizing them.
