(East Providence, RI) -- The Rhode Island Department of Transportation is announcing new, temporary overnight highway closures for a portion of Interstate 195. The closures are between the Washington Bridge and the Broadway on-ramp in East Providence and are needed to allow for the safe demolition of the structurally deficient Parkway Ramp Bridge, according to RIDOT. The closures will be in effect Monday through Wednesday. Detour maps are available on the transportation department's website, RIDOT.net.
