(North Kingstown, RI) -- The U.S. Navy held a keel-laying ceremony for a new submarine at Quonset Point Naval Station on Friday. The initials of the sponsor of the "USS Hyman G. Rickover", Darleen Greenert, were welded onto a steel plate that will be permanently affixed to the vessel. This will be the second sub named for Rickover, who was the original director of naval nuclear propulsion.
