Alleged Burglar Who Cut Through Roof Pleads Guilty

(Providence, RI)  --  A man accused of a brazen robbery in two stores in Smithfield is pleading guilty to charges. Epirot Krasniqi, an Albanian national living in Brooklyn, New York, admitted to multiple theft charges in federal court in Providence on Friday, according to the U.S. Justice Department. Prosecutors say Krasniqi cut through the roof of a Target store, pried open an ATM inside and stole more than 14-thousand dollars, then cut through the wall into a CVS Pharmacy and stole controlled substances in the early-morning hours of October 10th, 2017. Krasniqi is scheduled to be sentenced in August, while another man who is charged with also participating in the robbery is detained and awaiting trial.
