(Newport, RI) -- Seven people with apparent connections to the Volvo Ocean Race were arrested in Newport overnight Tuesday. "The Newport Daily News" reports police were called to the Clarke Cooke House restaurant and bar for a fire alarm and arrested the individuals who refused orders to get out of the building and let firefighters inside to reset the alarm. Andrew Cape of Lymington, England, who is listed by the Volvo Ocean Race as a navigator for one of the teams, was arrested for assaulting a police officer and disorderly conduct, but the former charge was dismissed in District Court.
