Roseanne Barr Blames Ambien For Her Racist Tweet - Roseanne Barr is blaming sleep tweeting for the racist tweet that got her hit show cancelled by ABC yesterday.
It was a tweet about former Obama White House adviser Valerie Jarrett that got her canned. Barr tweeted "muslim brotherhood and planet and the apes had a baby-Valerie Jarrett. Yikes. Jarrett's Iranian by the way but is perceived as being black. . Barr took to Twitter after the cancellation to apologize and told people not to defend her. She blamed the sleep aid and the late hour for the lack of judgment in posting the tweet and said it was a mistake she wish she hadn't made.
At one point she tweeted to Jarrett saying, “@ValerieJarrett I want to apologize to you. I am very sorry to have hurt you. I hope you can accept this sincere apology!” That post has since been deleted.
Her show, "Roseanne," which originally ran from 1988 to 1997, was rebooted this year to remarkable ratings. Rosanne's racist tweets put a lot of people out of work and she's likely...thank goodness finished on network TV. hOLLYWOOD KRYPTONITE.
