(Providence, RI) -- A work stoppage for nurses at Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children's Hospital is becoming more likely after the hospital said the nurses' union made the decision to strike late Tuesday. Hospital parent company Lifespan says it's moving forward with its promise to take ten-million dollars off the contract offer it had made and spending the money for temporary staffing. The strike is expected to begin Monday. A mediator had been brought in this week to try to prevent a strike.
