A Pro-Jo op ed piece asks a great question. Where are RI business giants Tom Ryan and Terry Murray in the Pawtucket Red Sox brouhaha? Sure, they're just two of the nine owners of the Pawsox, but they're the ones who ran corporate empires here in the Ocean State. Murray ran FLEET BANK and grew up in Woonsocket while Ryan, former CVS chief, ran corporate in the same City on the Move. They made their fortunes here and certainly have more local pop than front man Larry Lucchino. The op ed makes the point Ryan and Murray could shift the focus from SAVE THE PAWSOX to SAVE PAWTUCKET because there's much more at stake than just a new ballyard. Losing the team likely ends any hope of revitalizing the Main Street downtown core of the city. It's time for Murray and Ryan to take the lead.
