(Newport, RI) -- A Portsmouth woman is receiving a 20-year prison sentence for killing her husband. Lisa Almeida was sentenced on Thursday in Superior Court in Newport after pleading guilty to a charge of manslaughter for the 2016 shooting death of Manuel Laureanno. Prior to the plea deal, Almeida had been charged with murder.
