(Queens, NY) -- A plane that was en route to T.F. Green Airport is safely on the ground after making an emergency landing yesterday afternoon at JFK Airport in New York. United Airlines Flight 4697 was on its way from Washington, D.C. when the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit. The plane landed safely, was evacuated and three people were treated on the scene for minor ailments. The FAA is investigating.
