(Providence, RI) -- Care New England is reporting itself to be in the black following the closure of Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket. Rhode Island's second-largest hospital group reported this week that it turned an 800-thousand-dollar profit during the third quarter of the 2018 fiscal year, compared to a loss of six-and-a-half-million in the same period last year. Excluding costs related to closing the hospital, CNE said it recorded a four-point-six-million-dollar gain. Care New England asked Rhode Island officials last week for an expedited review of a proposed merger with Boston-based Partners HealthCare.
