(Providence, RI) -- A settlement is being proposed in part of a Rhode Island hospital pension lawsuit. The Providence Journal reports the court-appointed receiver suing over the collapse of the St. Joseph's and Fatima Hospital pension funds has proposed an eleven-million-dollar payment from three entities that previously owned Fatima, Roger Williams Hospital and the now-closed St. Joseph's Hospital. A judge must approve the settlement. Defendants not involved in the proposal include the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence and Prospect CharterCare.
