(Providence, RI) -- Students plan to hold a vigil on Friday at the spot where a 15-year-old boy collapsed following a shooting in Providence on Wednesday. William Parsons, a Central High School student, was shot to death following a fight in the vicinity of that school and Providence Career and Technical Academy and died directly in front of the PCTA building. Police said yesterday that Parsons was an innocent bystander when the shooting occurred. The suspect, a 16-year-old who was not a student at any of the nearby schools, was being treated at Hasbro Children's Hospital for treatment of a leg wound; police said he accidentally shot himself while running from the scene.
