(Washington, DC) -- Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has a statement out regarding the confirmed nomination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Whitehouse said over the weekend that Kavanaugh's narrow view of constitutional protections for women, a troubling affinity for dark money, and regularly siding with big Republican corporate and special interests were among the issues that cost him the senator's vote, before the allegations from Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. Whitehouse said even though President Trump mocked her, and Republicans ignored her, Blasey Ford's testimony "lit a fire". Kavanaugh was sworn in on Saturday after the Senate confirmed him, 50-to-48.
