(Middletown, RI) -- A Rhode Island high school soccer player who died on the field a year ago was honored and remembered at a special tournament this past weekend. Five teams, including Middletown High School, which organized the event, participated in the Maddie Potts Invitational, with proceeds going to a scholarship foundation. Potts, the captain for Chariho High School, collapsed on the field during a game against Middletown in September of 2017. Each game consisted of eleven-minute-eleven-second halves, for the number eleven worn by Potts.
