President Nominates New Rhode Island U.S. Attorney

(Washington, DC)  --  President Trump is announcing a nomination for United States Attorney for the District of Rhode Island.  Trump is picking Aaron Weisman, the current assistant attorney general and chief of the state attorney general's criminal appeals unit to replace acting U.S. Attorney Stephen Dambruch, who has held the position since May.  The White House notes Weisman has represented Rhode Island before the state Supreme Court in hundreds of felony cases and has also appeared before the U.S. Supreme Court.  The appointment is subject to the confirmation of the U.S. Senate.
