(Providence, RI) -- Rhode Island governor candidate Allan Fung's criticism of incumbent Gina Raimondo now includes the deaths of children in state care. During a news conference outside the Department of Children, Youth and Families building in Providence yesterday, Fung said Raimondo has managed DCYF poorly, noting that at least 19 cared-for kids have died during her tenure. He said if he was elected, he'd add more social workers, focus more on opioid treatment and require regular audits. Raimondo's campaign responded by saying Fung was politicizing vulnerable children and resorting to dirty politics.
