If you're an early Christmas shopper you're likely to spend more money than people who do their buying late, with Deloitte saying that it's actually some $370 more. A survey of more than 4,000 consumers found that the average household is expected to spend $1,536 during the holiday season, 25 percent more than respondents said in last year's survey, with people having more confidence in the economy and improved financial security. People who do their holiday shopping earlier have a more positive view of their financial situation, which is a major reason they spend more, according to Deloitte. The biggest part of people's holiday spending, 40 percent is used for experiences, like entertaining at home or socializing outside the home.
