(Providence, RI) -- The owner of a troubled downtown Providence nightclub is facing charges. The city's licensing board voted on Wednesday to limit the operating hours of Xcel Lounge for 90 days after shots were allegedly fired by a lounge patron earlier this month. Club owner Douglas Lopez turned himself in on Thursday after police charged him with interfering with the investigation into the shooting. The Providence Journal reports Lopez has admitted that he ordered surveillance footage to be deleted on the night of the shooting.
