(Scituate, RI) -- A Brooklyn, New York man is under arrest for allegedly assaulting a police officer in Scituate in September. Rhode Island State Police reports indicate Harinson Cruz-Perez was arrested in New York City on October 9th following an investigation by state police detectives and the Scituate Police Department. Authorities say an officer tried to stop a vehicle that had fled from Foster police during a traffic stop, and when the Scituate officer approached the car, the driver put the car into reverse and nearly struck the officer, who then reportedly fired three shots at the vehicle as it sped off.
