With Election Day in the books , politics remains at the top of Americans' minds, but a new survey finds that more people now say that it's "stressful and frustrating" to talk about politics with people they disagree with. The Pew Research Center poll found that 53 percent of Americans find it stressful and frustrating, up from 46 percent in March 2016, compared to 45 percent who say such conversations are usually "interesting and informative," down from 51 percent. The change has mostly been among Democrats, with 57 percent now saying that talking about politics with people they disagree with is stressful and frustrating, up from 45 percent two years ago, while 49 percent of Republicans feel this way, about the same percentage who did in 2016. The survey also found that a majority of 62 percent of Americans say President Trump's presidency and policies come up either very often or somewhat often in conversation, which is similar to what people said in December 2016, shortly after he was elected, but before he took office. Maybe it's best to keep your mouth full on Thanksgiving day...remember, it's not polite to talk with your mouth full.
