(Pawtucket, RI) -- The Pawtucket City Council is taking action regarding the Apex property on Main Street. WPRI-TV reports the council voted last night to declare the building blighted, which could allow the city to purchase the building outright. A statement released from Apex to the news station indicates the company believes if it works together with the city, the property can be re-developed to help spur Pawtucket's economic future. A report from the Valley Breeze on Tuesday cited sources that indicated mediation talks between the city and Apex owners broke off when the two sides couldn't come to an agreement on a purchase price.
