(Providence, RI) -- The ACLU of Rhode Island is expressing concerns about alleged disregard by a state agency for the Open Meetings Act. The group says on Monday, the Rhode Island Public Transportation Authority initially sought to ban a local journalist from video-recording a board meeting. RIPTA Board Chair Wayne Kezirian said in an email to the ACLU that the journalist was allowed and will continue to be allowed to videotape meetings, and that there is no prohibition of the act, although he said he was concerned that some people who want to issue public comment may be hesitant to do so while being filmed.
