(Providence, RI) -- The next vote affecting the proposed Fane Tower in Providence is on hold. Providence City Council was scheduled to decide last night on whether to override Mayor Jorge Elorza's veto of an ordinance change that would have allowed the luxury apartment tower to be built in an area that normally doesn't allow buildings that tall to go up. The vote was postponed because Ward 8 Councilman Wilbur Jennings was absent due to an illness. A newly-scheduled special meeting is happening on Thursday.
