(Undated) -- Three companies were successful bidders for offshore wind leases for an area south of Massachusetts and Rhode Island on Friday. Equinor Wind, Vineyard Wind and Mayflower Wind Energy had a combined bid of just over 405-million dollars in the auction run by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management. Roughly four-hundred-thousand acres were included in the record-breaking sale.
