(Providence, RI) -- Rhode Island Senate President Dominick Ruggerio is criticizing a report issued by the state department of education. Ruggerio says he sent a letter to the department on Monday expressing deep disappointment in the report, which was in response to a Senate resolution requesting the department conduct a comprehensive review of the Massachusetts Education Reform Act and provide recommendations to improve Rhode Island's educational standards. Among the Senate president's complaints: The report, issued a day before a deadline of December 1st, doesn't mention Massachusetts at all, and is dated from before the Senate passed the resolution.
