(Warwick, RI) -- The Warwick School Committee is filing a lawsuit against the Warwick City Council, the city treasurer and the mayor. The school committee says in its legal complaint filed in Providence Superior Court that the budget that was allocated this year was about six-and-a-half-million dollars short of the committee's request, and the committee claims it can't provide legally-required services as a result. The committee claims its budget has barely moved upward since 2010. The complaint calls for the city to be compelled to increase funding.
