(Johnston, RI) -- The federal government sent the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service to Belfield Drive in Johnston on Wednesday to survey the dead-end road where flooding has been cutting off residents from Route 6. A problematic culvert has been determined to be the cause of the flooding, and the feds have offered to purchase a couple of houses to tear down to establish a new culvert. One homeowner has accepted the buyout but one other has not, according to a report from WJAR-TV.
