The World Champion Boston Red Sox are scheduled to visit the White House February 15th. The team says it'll leave it up to the individual members of the organization as to whether they'll make the trip or not. Red Sox manager Alex Cora is reportedly wavering on whether he'll visit the Rose Garden and break bread with President Trump. Cora's been an outspoken critic of Trump over the president's response to hurricane relief for the manager's native Puerto Rico. Cora says one issue is whether he can accomplish more by going or staying home. He made it clear he doesn't intend to cause a scene. The most recent honoree was Clemson's national champion football team this month . Because of the federal government shutdown, Trump ordered in and served the players pizza, burgers and fries. of course, THAT made news. In these politically fragmented times, even something that should be as innocent and fun as a visit by a championship team to the White House is embroiled in controversy...and if the government shutdown is still going on February 15th, there will be a lot more important things to worry about than Alex Cora's decision.
