(Newport, RI) -- Governor Gina Raimondo provided several updates regarding relief efforts related to the National Grid gas outage on Aquidneck Island yesterday. Raimondo said that she has directed the Department of Labor and Training to allow those who have missed work due to the outage to apply for unemployment insurance immediately. Raimondo also said personnel from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Massachusetts EMA have arrived in Newport to support Rhode Island's relief efforts and bring in additional resources as necessary.
