(Providence, RI)--A Rhode Island legislator is once again proposing a statewide animal abuse registry.The bill from State Representative Arthur Corvese would make the information of convicted abusers available in the registry for a 15-year period for one offense, and for a lifetime for a second offense.Animal shelters and pet sellers would have to check the registry before a pet can be purchased.Corvese has introduced the legislation each of the last two years.
