(Providence, RI)--Hundreds gathered for an interfaith vigil in Providence on Monday to honor the victims of last week's mosque shootings in New Zealand.The event was organized by the Rhode Island Council for Muslim Advancement outside of the Islamic Center of Rhode Island.Faith leaders and others pointed to previous shootings - at a Jewish synagogue in Pittsburgh last year and at a South Carolina church in 2015 - and pointed to the rise of white supremacy and white nationalism as a common cause of the tragedies.
