(Providence, RI)--The NCAA conference which the Providence College hockey team is a member of, is reporting a use of a racial slur during a playoff game last weekend.The commissioner of Hockey East issued a statement last night saying the conference investigated a report of a comment from a Boston College player to a PC player.Officials say they were unable to determine the source of the remark, and the matter is considered closed, but that Hockey East will pursue new policies regarding education of all student-athletes with the goal of preventing similar incidents in the future.
