RI State Troopers Will Focus On Distracted Drivers This Week

(Undated)--Additional Rhode Island State Police troopers are being assigned to special patrols this week to enforce the state's texting-while-driving and hands-free cell phone laws.It's part of a national highway safety campaign called You Drive, You Text, You Pay, and the month of April is being referred to as Distracted Driving Awareness Month.Anyone found talking or texting on a hand-held device while driving in the state faces fine of up to one-hundred dollars and-or a license suspension of up to 30 days.
