If you watched the latest episode of “Game Of Thrones,” you might’ve noticed something in the background that didn’t exactly look like it belonged in Westeros. A lot of fans did, and they immediately flooded Twitter all about it.
The out-of-place item in question? A coffee cup, which fans have been calling a Starbucks cup. It shows up in the background at the 17:50-minute mark of the episode “Last Of The Starks”... and it’s unmistakably modern next to the other goblets and chalices.
What’s the show have to say for themselves? Basically, “oops.”In an interview with WNYC radio, executive producer Bernie Caulfield owned the error. “We’re sorry!” he offered before cackling. “If that’s the worst thing they’re finding, then we’re in good shape.”HBOhas also released a statementconfirming that “the latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) had ordered an herbal tea.”
