(East Providence, RI)--A plastic bag ban is being approved in East Providence.The City Council this week gave final approval to an ordinance to phase out the availability of single-use bags at retail locations, set to take effect in six months.At least a dozen Rhode Island cities and towns have implemented plastic bag bans.
