(Providence, RI)--A bill that would provide reimbursement for people wrongfully convicted of a crime is advancing in the Rhode Island House.That chamber's Judiciary Committee passed the legislation last night.The bill was sparked by the case of a former Warwick policeman, Scott Hornoff, who was convicted of a killing in 1996 but maintained his innocence.Hornoff was exonerated in 2002 after the real killer confessed to the crime.The full House is expected to vote on the bill next week.
