The lack of a Brexit plan is unraveling a political career.
British Prime MinisterTheresa May has just announced that she will be resigning on June 7th. It's been widely anticipated that May would announce her departure today because of a cabinet mutiny over her Brexit plan.
In her statement, the Prime Minister said “It would remain a matter of "deep regret" that she had been unable to deliver Brexit, but a new PM was "in the best interests of the country.”
Her successor is expected to be chosen before she steps down.
