(Portsmouth, RI)--Newport is hoping for another partner on Aquidneck Island for a school merger.The Newport Daily News reports the Portsmouth Town Council voted unanimously last night to continue discussions on a possible unified school district.Previously, Newport was courting Middletown, but Middletown officials showed no interest.
