(Scituate, RI)--There are new details on the placing of Scituate Police Chief Donald Delaere on administrative leave.Town Council Vice President Abbie Groves said yesterday that the action was taken after the chief alleged that he was being defamed and harassed; Delaere specifically names Town Council President James Brady, who has denied those allegations.But, Delaere says he's not being investigated, according to a Wednesday report from the Valley Breeze.In fact, he tells the newspaper he's on leave because of claimed medical issues.He says he will return to the position in a few weeks.
