(Providence, RI)--Last week was a busy week for new laws being announced in Rhode Island.Lieutenant Governor Dan McKee highlighted a law he had proposed which will prohibit competitive electric suppliers from automatically renewing residential contracts, starting on August 1st.The governor has signed into law several bills that aim to help citizens affected by Alzheimer's disease and to protect elder abuse.Here are the other new laws: one makes non-competition agreements unenforceable against hourly and low-wage employees as well as children and college students, and another streamlines regulations for companies using blockchain financial applications.
