ProPublica: Trump Organization Documents Show Profit Inconsistencies

The Trump Organization changed some financial info on two Manhattan buildings and ProPublica caught the inconsistencies.

The publication says the expenses, profits, and occupancy numbers for two of the organization’s New York City buildings made it look more profitable to lenders and less profitable to the IRS. An example: the Trump company told the lender that they took in twice as much rent from one building as was reported to tax authorities during the same year, 2017. Conflicting occupancy figures for one of Trump’s signature skyscrapers, located at 40 Wall Street, was also given.

The documents were public because the Trump Organization appealed the property tax bill for nine years in a row.
