House Democrats are laying out the next steps toward the possible impeachment of President Trump.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that the House will take a vote Thursday that "establishes the procedure" in the ongoing impeachment inquiry. In a letter to House Dems, Pelosi said it will set the rules for public hearings and the release of transcripts from closed witness depositions.
The vote will also authorize formal transmission of evidence to the House Judiciary Committee and provide due process rights to the White House.
Rumor has it, Pelosi’s announcement came as a surprise to some top Democrats.
