(Boston, MA)--The MBTA board is calling for a multi-billion-dollar commuter rail system upgrade.Work is expected to start right away on electrifying the Providence-Stoughton line and several others.Officials note the Providence line already has the infrastructure for electric trains because of the presence of Amtrak on the corridor.
