(Portsmouth, RI)--A Portsmouth woman is being given community service as a sentence for causing the death of her dog.The Newport Daily News reports a charge of unnecessary cruelty to animals was dismissed in district court on Thursday against Emily Foley, who entered a no contest plea to a charge of prohibited animal confinement.It was previously reported in August that Foley had been running errands with her children and mistakenly left the dog, a golden retriever, inside a vehicle.
